The accessibility tech space is booming with innovative solutions that transform users’ lives. But with policymakers from both sides of the aisle having shifted their targets for new regulation to tech-driven sectors, accessibility is unlikely to be an exception. This fireside chat exploredexciting accessibility tech tools and took a deep dive into potential bills and regulations that can help or hinder accessibility-driven tech solutions.
During this event, attendees had the opportunity to hear from and ask questions of presenters to gain a deeper understanding of technology tools in the accessibility and inclusion space and learn how specific bills and policies related to the regulation of accessibility technology impact their success. Speakers also discussed current and future-looking trends in accessibility tech solutions and how those solutions are shaped and informed by regulations here in the United States and around the world.
Driving our conversation was Betsy Furler, founder and CEO of member company For All Abilities. Betsy has an impressive background in the accessibility tech space and has written several books on use of tech and apps for speech therapy for people with disabilities. Our very own Brian Scarpelli, senior global policy council at ACT | The App Association, joined Betsy for the discussion. While Brian works on a slew of issues, our event highlighted his passion for accessibility tech and deep understanding of policy.
