(WASHINGTON, DC) March 14, 2022 – Today, ACT | The App Association released a statement from president Morgan Reed celebrating Pi Day:

“Today is Pi Day—a day where across the globe we celebrate the mathematical constant pi while stuffing ourselves with our favorite pie (mine is rhubarb pie, hold the strawberries).

But after the pi-wonder and pie stuffing, Pi Day is an opportunity to remind ourselves of the importance of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education in our lives and for our future.  STEM education creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators.

STEM education is also responsible for shaping the minds of the next generation of innovators in the app economy, and as we see it, our future App Association members.  Our members are literally and figuratively changing lives, and driving the innovations that improve productivity, accelerate learning, deliver entertainment, and promote healthier lifestyles.  We must work to empower the future innovators who will be driving the technology of tomorrow.

But on today’s Pi Day, let’s celebrate what STEM teaches us all—the ability to think critically and develop transformative solutions to deliver the next generation of innovation.

Here’s to Pi Day!”
