Today the Future Privacy Forum published the results of its app privacy study. We are encouraged by FPF’s findings which show the self-regulatory efforts of the app industry are producing measurable improvement in consumer privacy transparency.  ACT has spoken with thousands of developers through boot camps, developer conferences and workshops. We are gratified to see that our work is having an impact. Still, we have much more work to do.  We look forward to continuing our work within the NTIA multi-stakeholder process to identify comprehensive solutions to online privacy concerns as well as with the California Attorney General to establish a consistent place in the app stores where developers can display their privacy policies.  We welcome the bar that FPF’s data has set, and will endeavor to exceed it.
