The gender gap in technology is growing. In 1984, 37 percent of all computer science graduates were women, but today that number is just 18 percent. Programs like Girls Who Code are working to address this issue.

Girls Who Code works to close the gender gap by inspiring girls to pursue computer science. Through their Summer Immersion Program, high school aged girls learn about things like app development and meet role models from the industry. ACT | The App Association member, Swapna Lele, recently spoke at the Summer Immersion Program in Washington, DC. Read about her message to the participants on her blog.
