ACT App Study Shows Small Business Rules the Industry; Exports to China Strong
ACT, the trade association representing the app industry, today released a new study showing that 87% of the top app companies are small businesses, and that American developers are making serious inroads into the Chinese market. The study conducted by ACT also found that app companies are finding success throughout the United States. FPF Data Demonstrates Successes in Self-Regulation
Today the Future Privacy Forum published the results of its app privacy study. We are encouraged by FPF's findings which show the self-regulatory efforts of the app industry are producing measurable improvement in consumer privacy transparency. ACT has spoken with thousands of developers through boot camps, developer conferences and workshops. We are gratified to see that our work is having an impact. Still, we have much more work to do.
