Making Innovation More than Just a Campaign Slogan

WHAT: During the 2006 elections, “innovation” and “competitiveness” became buzzwords that were woven into nearly every campaign stump speech.  With the elections over and a new Congress sworn in, the time has come to move beyond political rhetoric.

To that effect, the Association for Competitive Technology (ACT) will be hosting a lunch and panel discussion on the policies—national and local—that are most crucial to promoting innovation and increasing competitiveness.

At the event, ACT will be releasing its new research paper dealing with innovation and the promotion of a competitive platform on a worldwide scale, “National Policies as Platforms for Innovation: Reconciling a Flat World with Creative Cities.”

WHO: The event will feature several high-level panelists to discuss the importance of innovation in today’s current competitive global environment. Panelists include:

• Steve DelBianco, VP of Public Policy, Association for Competitive Technology
• Steven Pedigo , Director of Research, Greater Washington Initiative
• Veronique de Rugy, Resident Fellow, American Enterprise Institute
