40 percent of companies have been hit with malware

According to eWeek.com, “[a] new report by Webroot Software has found that more than 40 percent of companies surveyed had been hit with malware that disrupted their business.”

In a different article, eWeek.com observes that “[t]he idea that Linux is primarily a community-based project based on the work of thousands of independent, idealist hackers has died a quiet death” as the “leading nonprofit Linux organization’s board” now includes “many Fortune 500 executives from around the world—but not one representative from a purely community-based Linux organization.”

Slashdot reports that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has launched its accelerated review process.
