ACT | The App Association’s members are at the forefront of innovation, leveraging technology to create meaningful solutions that drive positive change. Each month, we spotlight these trailblazing small businesses through our Member Monday series.

Throughout September, or SEPstember as we like to call it, we introduced you to a sampling of our members who are connecting physical devices with software, showcasing how they continue to harness the power of technology for good. From addressing agricultural sustainability and healthcare innovation to developing other IoT use cases, these businesses are creating technology that is paving the way for a brighter, more connected future. App Association members’ IoT devices rely on standards-based interoperability, which requires their licensing of standard-essential patents (SEPs). When it’s operating fairly, the SEP licensing process supports innovation across devices and systems, but when mismanaged or gamed by unfair licensor practices, it creates significant barriers, preventing small businesses from using the standardized solutions they need to compete. You can learn more about SEP licensing and small businesses here.

These Member Monday highlights can also be caught on our social media platforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram, and Threads. Follow us to stay updated and celebrate the work our members are doing!
