Europe’s SMEs are hoping that the patent system will get simplified

The Financial Times reports that “[d]efending intellectual property in the EU may get cheaper, quicker and more efficient under plans to streamline the patent regime outlined by the European Commission on Tuesday.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the “Chinese police seized nearly 2 million fake CDs and DVDs when they raided a factory in the country’s largest crackdown on entertainment industry pirates, the official New China News Agency said.”

MSNBC writes that, in a worrying move, “Thailand’s military-appointed government blocked access to on-line video-sharing Web site YouTube on Wednesday after its owner, Google Inc., declined to withdraw a video clip mocking the country’s revered monarch.”
