The Association for Competitive Technology is proud to celebrate Data Privacy Day. While it is important to protect users’ online privacy throughout the year, on this day we honor those whose exemplary work serves as an example for the rest of the industry.
One of the groups most dedicated to providing a safe and secure online environment is Moms With Apps (MWA). Its membership of over 1,500 parent app makers has always been a leading voice for children’s privacy in the mobile space, even earning praise from federal privacy regulators at the FTC.
Committed to helping parents make informed decisions about children’s apps, this past year MWA launched an initiative called Know What’s Inside™. Establishing a high bar for transparency and privacy in kids apps, the group awards the Know What’s Inside™ seal to app companies that go above and beyond what is required to provide a safe app environment for kids.
With over 150 companies in the Know What’s Inside program, Moms With Apps is committed to its growth, but only at a pace that doesn’t compromise its high standards. In a community that considers themselves parents first – and developers second – this is critical for identifying the best family-friendly apps for children.
The commitment demonstrated by Moms With Apps this past year is worthy of the highest recognition on the day we celebrate data privacy.
