This is my first time at CES. I’m a newbie. Yet, it seems, even the old hands at CES are just as overwhelmed as I am. There are just SO. MANY. COOL. THINGS.

Mobile phones galore, televisions, sleep monitors, pedometers geared towards kids, sound systems, extra battery packs that double as cases for cell phones (my battery drains so fast here – I need one of these cases), 3D printers, refrigerators, vacuums, record players (they’re back!) and so much more. Maybe someone needs to create an app with a checklist of all the booths at CES so I can make sure I go to all of them to see all of the new tech.

The Las Vegas Convention Center is huge. Gigantic. I spent hours wandering around talking to exhibitors yesterday and think I’ve only walked about one third of the floor. I spent some time speaking with the exhibitors in the “mommy tech” section – businesses geared towards parenting and kids. I spoke with a couple companies (SocialShield and Net Nanny) that work hard to help parents take an active interest in their kids activities online making it a safe environment for kids to learn and play.

The television section is gigantic. I’m sorry to say I did not take a picture of myself wearing the 3D clip-on lenses over my glasses. You just had to be there. Yes, the OLED TV is awesome – thinner than the width of a finger and one of the crispest pictures I’ve seen. Start saving your money, folks. You’ll want one of these.

I took some time to speak with the folks at Technicolor about their new app coming out called M-Go. It’s an app that will work on all of your devices and combines your media like movies, music, other apps, live TV and more. You’ll be able to get video on demand through M-Go’s store or Amazon or Apple (and likely more in the future). It’s easy to navigate and easy to find the TV shows you want to watch. The app will be preloaded on those new fancy Ultrabooks from Intel, Samsung’s Smart TVs and Vizio devices. It will also be available for download on Apple, Android and Windows devices. They project this to be released in the coming months. I’m sure I’ll get it right away and hope you do too.
