As ACT Executive Director Morgan Reed highlighted in his presentation to developers at the MoDevEast conference, there are three essentials to ensure that your app is privacy compliant.

1. Get Yourself a Privacy Policy – Go to privacychoice.org and make your own customized privacy policy that fits your application. Or use another resource. But make sure you have one.

2. Know Your Partners – Know what third-party relationships you have involve information sharing. Make sure you know the details of your arrangements with advertisers, carriers, platforms and analytics providers.

3. Be Open with Users – Don’t hide your privacy policy. Make sure it’s accessible and easy for your users to find.
