Today, ACT | The App Association called on Senators Blunt, Murray, and Capito to make computer science education a national priority.

Throughout the country, companies in the $120 billion app economy are looking to grow. In fact, there are more than a half-million unfilled software development positions across the country. Even though these positions boast six-figure salaries on average, there are not enough qualified graduates to fill them. Congress must prioritize computer science education to ensure our economy and our children’s futures remain bright.

We urged the appropriators to help ensure the United States remains the global leader in technology innovation by supporting primary and secondary CS education in the FY 2017 Labor Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies Appropriations bill.
